Data We Collect

When you use BISS Diet Assistant, we collect only the data necessary to provide the service:

  • Account information — your email address and, optionally, your name
  • Dietary restriction profiles — the restrictions and preferences you configure
  • Ingredient check history — products and ingredients you've searched for
  • Food diary entries — meals and symptoms you log
  • Subscription status — your current plan and payment state

Data We Don't Collect

We believe in minimal data collection. We do not:

  • Use analytics trackers or tracking pixels
  • Set third-party cookies
  • Sell or share your data with advertisers
  • Display any advertising
  • Build profiles for marketing purposes

How We Use Your Data

  • Provide the service — check ingredients against your restrictions, search the food database, generate meal suggestions
  • Improve AI features — AI-generated results from paid-tier features are cached and anonymized to build a Community Knowledge Base that benefits all users. No personally identifiable information is included in cached results.
  • Process payments — manage your subscription and payment history through our payment provider

Data Storage

Your data is stored in Cloudflare D1, a distributed database with data centers in the EU and US. All data is encrypted at rest. We do not store data in regions outside of these jurisdictions.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate BISS Diet Assistant:

  • Cloudflare — hosting, CDN, and database infrastructure
  • Anthropic (Claude API) — AI-powered analysis for paid-tier features. Your inputs are not used to train Anthropic's models.
  • LemonSqueezy — web payment processing and subscription management
  • Apple — iOS in-app payment processing
  • Google — OAuth authentication (sign in with Google)

Each service processes only the minimum data required for its function.

Data Retention

Your account data is retained while your subscription is active or your free account exists. When you delete your account, all personal data is permanently removed within 30 days. Anonymized data that has been contributed to the Community Knowledge Base is retained separately and cannot be traced back to you.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your data — view everything we store about you
  • Correct your data — update inaccurate information
  • Delete your data — request full account deletion
  • Export your data — download your data in a portable format

Children

BISS Diet Assistant is not intended for users under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will notify all registered users via email before the changes take effect. Minor clarifications or formatting changes may be made without notice.
